Listening to: A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton |
It's been almost two weeks for me to discover Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Many places I've visited and now I'd say that I'm falling in love with this city. Nearly everyday after finish working at the school, me and friends love to walk around the city and feel the atmosphere of Budapest. It's so much fun.
Just like last night, we walked on the riverside of the Danube river. The Buda Palace and the bridges views on the river side were completely made our night. So pretty, I'd very happy to send a postcard with this view. It was chilly and the wind blew my hair unstoppable. I like this sensation. Only happens in the fall season.

Oh come on.. stop the muse.
Okay, so how's in the other places?
I'll start from Margaret Island. This island is a special landmark of Budapest, it's located in the middle of the Danube. There's a park inside, fully flowers and two melody fountains. I really enjoyed the melody fountains. The water was dancing following the Hungarian music. Even I didn't understand what the song means but I like it. Those upbeat songs kicked me to dance following the dance water.

On the first weekend, we went to The Castle District. We had to walk following the shape of the hill. I didn't feel tired at all because of the breathtaking panorama all the way up. There I enjoyed The Buda Palace, some historical buildings, and Matthias Church. The Matthias church has a beautiful characteristic and has been over 700 years old. No wonder every girl in this city has a dream to get married there. On that day at least there were three couples of bridegrooms taking pictures in this place.

On the other day ,we went to The House of Parliament. This building is one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings. The info guide book says that this building was laid out the entire plans by a Hungarian architect, Imre Steindl. A thousand people were involved in construction, 40 million bricks, half a million of precious stones and 40 kilograms of gold were used. Here is the question, where is the gold taking place? when I was there I didn't see any bright from the gold. Probably they use it for the interior building. Or may be I just missed it. I have to go back :)

I think I've been to the largest church in Budapest, St. Stephen's Basilica Church for couple of times. Day and night time. Beside its beauty, around of this place there are many kinds of restaurants and bars to hang out.

The Largest Church in Budapest |
The Heroes' Square is another must visited places in Hungary. It's located near the school and I took a happy walking to get there yesterday. It was too late when I arrived to this most spectacular venues in Budapest. The sunset is coming earlier than usual. At around 4.30 pm is already dark. I couldn't take a good photo and I decided to come back again one day.

The Citadel - Gellert Hill is really something for me. I just occasionally had a time to go there in the afternoon without preparation. I went there by myself. Citadela is a hill with The Liberation Monument on the top of it. The main figure is a woman, holding an olive branch on her hand as a symbol of peace. There’s a cave church also on the hillside. On my way to the top of Citadella I had a good eye view. It
was WOW. The trees were surrounding me with the colorful leaves. Red, green,
green lemon, orange, yellow, and brown. I could see entirety Budapest city. I had
to stop a couple times to rest. Cold and hot were blending in my body. I sweat
and froze in the same time. This is a very unique sensation. I took a very deep
breath to relieve my heart beats.

The Power of Selfie |
I met tourists on the top of Citadela. They didn’t look
tired like me. Hah good to know that they came up there by cars or busses. Yes,
there’s a road for cars to get up the hill. But, it’s not challenging. Anyway,
I’m so happy because of my selfie stick. I took many pictures of myself with
Citadela views behind. Oh some tourist were looking at me when I took pictures
with the selfie stick. I know, they are interested in my stick.
My story in Budapest will be longer than this because I have five more weeks to go. It's always nice to share what I've seen from my eyes and heart (may be). Have a good weekend besties.
