Atlanta, Let Me Tell You One Thing.

Atlanta was the second city that I've visited after Washington DC. This city is larger than Charlotte, North Carolina. I've been living in NC for 4 months and I still have 8 months to go. Hopefully I have chance to travel to another city. My plan is to visit New York, Florida, and California. Aaah.. I need to safe my money.

So, how was Atlanta 26-29 Dec?
It was great!
I went there with two friends, both of them are students/ interns from Slovakia, Lucia and Karolina. We booked everything before we went there. We booked bus tickets, hotel, and CityPass tickets. CityPass ticket is a ticket for 5 most visited places in Atlanta. Those are Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Atlanta Zoo, CNN Studio, and High Museum of Art. This ticket price is $74. It was so much cheaper than to buy it separately and directly at the location. We bought bus tickets for round trip for $64 and hotel for 3 nights for $70 including breakfast. So, each of us already spent $208 before we went there.

We arrived at the bus station in Atlanta around 3.00 pm. We walked to Garnett Station and bought a Breeze Card, this card is an e-ticket for using MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority), We bought it in a ticket machine for a dollar and we must top up for the trip. Per trip price is $2.5 either train or bus. Then, we took Marta train to Five Points Station. After that we took Marta bus no. 49 to Comfort Inn. It took about 10 minutes from bus station to the hotel.

We left all of our stuff  in the hotel, we just brought a camera, passport, hotel's key, breeze card, and for sure the wallets in our purse. We walked around the downtown, walked through in the Underground, had dinner, and took in some of beautiful city view. It was so cold at that night.

The next day, Georgia Aquarium was our first destination. The world's largest aquarium. Yes it is. I've never been to an aquarium before, so I was so excited. I walked through to every single corner. Whaaw, that was my first time to see whales, sharks, rays, and most of they collection. I saw penguins, anemones, spider crab, jellyfish and others.

Pacific Sea Nettle

The aquarium has Africa's river collection also. At that place I saw 2 white crocodiles. OMG, it's scared me. Yes, suddenly Suzanna came to my mind. Hiii.. She is a famous horror movies actress from Indonesia. One of her scary movie is about white crocodile. In our myth, a shaman who has super black magic could switch their body to a white crocodile. It's like a demon inside the crocodile's body. Believe it or not, it just become a myth for years.

Look at his fingers!
We watched Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow and the best experience there was The Dolphin Tales Show. It's awesome. Seeing dolphins dancing with the coaches and their funny face.. owh.. so cute.

At night, we went to  the Hard rock cafe, had a nap and drank. I ordered a glass of stawberry basil juice. The taste was really good. I thought it just made by strawberries, basil, lemon juice, ice, and sugar. One day I wanna make it by myself.

The second day, we visited The CNN Studio and World of Coca Cola. CNN (Cable News Network) is one of the worldwide leader in news. The studio tour took about 55 minutes and we saw a glimpse of broadcasting and news behind the scenes.

World of Coca Cola was interesting. This place has all things about Coca Cola. It showed us about the intrigue surrounding the secret formula, bottling process, and never-before-displayed artifacts. The best one was watching a 4-D movie and tasting more than 60 flavors of coke from around the world. At that time I just tasted less than 10 flavors, Peru, Thailand, Madagascar, Venezuela, Belgium.. It's already too much. My stomach was hurt after that. Hahaha.

The last day, we visited Atlanta Zoo and Museum of High Art. It was chilly and overcast in the morning, the officer told us that the animals won't be active as usual. Aah yes, not only animals for me in that cold weather I pretty much prefer stay in my room with a blanket than go outside. Hahahha..

Rhinoceros
Lucky me, in there I saw a black rhinoceros. Alive. I've never seen it before in Indonesia. Research  says that this rhinoceros may become extinct in the wild before the end of this century because of people are killing them all. Couple years ago, I only saw the preserved body of this animal in Museum of Zoology in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. Here, at Atlanta zoo finally I saw it alive.

This zoo is more informative than any other zoo that I've ever visited. In every single animals exhibit the zoo gave a description about the animals. They gave a sign also to the trees, even to the grasses. I felt like I was being in the botanical garden in there. Awesome. For the number of animals I think Taman Safari Indonesia is so much better.

Red Panda

Ohya, I saw Panda overthere. A mom and her twin cute baby. Unforgettable.

The last place was Museum of High Art. Even I don't know anything about arts, but in there I really enjoyed them. I saw any kinds of art. From early 14th to 20th centuries. From pictures, crafts, cut glasses, to sculptures. From African collection, European, to American. From contemporary to modern art.

Some painted pictures from early 18th century are really fancy. I'm considering about one thing. I think at that time, a beautiful girl is represented by long curly hair, big boobs, slim belly, wide waist and plump body shape. But right now, it changes. A perfect girl just like a barbie. Slim-skinny body shape. Aaah.. If I born in 18th century. Hehehhe~

Overall.. all I can say is, ATLANTA YOU ROCK!!

You should let Mbak Dessy know about your pictures of the Aquariums. She was there last year, but alone. So she doesn't have any good picture. She definitely will be jealous... :-p
