Is that You, Marigold?

Marigolds are one of a hundred different kinds of flowers. When I heard about Marigolds automatically my mind will say that they are the ugly yellow flower that smells bad. Indonesian people called it "kembang tahi ayam" which means chicken feces. We are so mean, hahaha. It is not a coincidence. Everybody knows that this flower has a pungent odor and we don't like it.

Now, it changes. I could see this flower in a different way. I assure you will agree with me. All right, in these last couple days we have Marigolds in my section at Metrolina Greenhouses. First time I saw them I was so surprised because they're not tall like I knew before. When I got closer to them I felt confused. Why are they so beautiful? Why? It took a couple minutes for me to realize something. Where is the bad smell? I didn't smell anything. They are totally shocking me!

I read some articles about Marigolds today and I felt that Marigolds were tricking me. In the past I just knew that they are bad instead of beautiful. How couldn't I know that Marigold are a fancy flower. Okay, We need to get closer. Know it to love it!

Firstly, Marigolds were discovered by the Portuguese in Central America in the 16th Century. This annual flower is included in Family Asteraceae and is broadly separated in two Genuses, Tagetes and Calendula. The last one is  commonly known as pot Marigolds. Now, I see that before I just knew the pot Marigolds.
The major varieties of Tagetes Marigolds are American/ African Marigold, French Marigold, Signet Marigold, and Mule Marigold.

They are beautiful, aren't they?

Besides being beautiful for our gardens, they have more advantages for us. The sap of the stem can help our skin problems, such as skin inflammation, warts, and varicose veins. The pigments are also used as a food coloring for humans and livestock. That's amazing.

Hmm.. I'm sorry Marigolds, I just know you better now.

    In my village, this flower called "Kembang Ketul"... I used to have plenty in my garden, but now all gone... Don't even have the seed. Would be very appreciate if you kindly bringing them here when you're back home :-)

    I don't have any plans to bring any flower from here but photos. hehe. I think people already forgot this flower for their garden and change it with other flower that don't have a bad smell..

Pengalaman menjalani operasi/ surgery saya alami untuk kedua kalinya tanggal 18 April kemarin. Wuff lagi-lagi masih berhubungan dengan Telinga Hidung Tenggorokan (THT). Sebelumnya 4 tahun lalu, pada bulan Mei 2009 saya menjalani operasi gendang telinga. Operasi ini dilakukan tidak direncanakan. Waktu itu sebenarnya ayah saya yang sedang dirawat dan saya cuma iseng sekalian periksa telinga karena pilek. Ternyata pas dilihat dokternya, gendang telinga saya sebelah kiri sudah bolong. Dokter menyarankan untuk operasi. Jadilah, besoknya saya langsung masuk ruang operasi.  Narsis di detik-detik mulai operasi, biar semangat. Sejarah penyakit per-THT an saya memang sudah eksis semenjak saya kecil. Saya ingat sejak SD saya bolak balik ke dokter THT langganan di Belitung, Dr. Hendro. Gejala yang saya rasakan macam-macam, kalau dulu masih kecil suka keluar cairan, kemudian serasa tersumbat, tidak seimbang, sampai kurang mendengar. A Long Road to Get Drivers License in NC

This post is my promise. Whenever I get my driver license I will write the story and share it in my blog. This is a special moment in my life, this is a truly life in U.S.A. So, what does this means? Yeah, finally I got my driver license yesterday, 30-1-2014. I've been waiting for this moment for four months. Actually I have 2 kinds of drivers licenses in Indonesia, car and motorcycle. Driving for me is not a new thing, not a hobby, I drive because I need to drive. Especially in my hometown, Belitung Island, where is rarely people there use public transportation. Padang Bulan dan Cinta di Dalam Gelas

Siapa yang sudah baca dwilogi novel Andrea Hirata yang terbaru?? Padang Bulan dan Cinta di dalam Gelas.. aku, aku baru baca satu setengah bagian dari dwilogi novel karangan novelis terkenal tersebut.. jadi, baru novel "Cinta di Dalam Gelas" saja yang aku sudah tau isinya. isinya terbagi menjadi dua garis besar cerita di dalamnya. coba dengarkan... Pertama Tentang Enong, anak penambang timah yang mati ayah saat dia masih duduk di bangku SD (lupa kelas berapa). Enong yang mempunyai minat yang sangat besar di pelajaran Bahasa Inggris terpaksa berhenti sekolah demi menghidupi keluarganya dengan menjadi penambang timah perempuan pertama di Belitong (sedihnya...). karena minatnya yang besar pada bahasa inggris, Enong pun bertekad melanjutkan studinya di Tanjongpandan dengan mengikuti kursus bahasa inggris di Trendy English Course. perlu diketahui jarak antara Gantong dan Tanjongpandan kira-kira 90Km dan ditempuh menggunakan bis umum. sementara, Enong harus mengikuti kursus sebanya
